5 mm is the metric everyday grid
In Europe and Asia, 5 mm squared paper is the usual notebook grid. Ten squares make 5 cm; twenty make 10 cm. This page preselects darker lines every two squares so centimetres are easy to count.
US inch grids: 1/4 inch and half inch. More options on the graph paper hub.

Frequently asked questions
Is 5mm graph paper the same as squared paper?

Why are some lines darker?
By default every second line is darker so each centimetre is marked. You can change or turn that off in the tool.
Should I use A4?

How do I verify the size?
Enable the ruler check mark, print at 100%, and measure the 20 mm reference line.
