About Grid & Line

Grid & Line is a small set of free tools for printing paper and handwriting practice exactly the way you need it. Instead of a folder of fixed PDFs, every paper type and worksheet is a generator: you choose the spacing, colors, size and text, and the page is drawn in your browser at the precise dimensions you asked for.

Everything runs on your device. We do not upload your settings, text or pictures, there is no account to create, and templates carry no watermark. You are free to print them for personal, classroom and commercial use.

Paper accuracy

Lines are drawn as vectors in points (1/72 inch), so a 1/4 inch square is exactly 1/4 inch in the PDF. Small differences on paper come from printer scaling; print at actual size and use the ruler check mark to confirm.

Handwriting worksheets

The letters and numbers are not a font. Each one is drawn from our own stroke data: the path the pencil follows, in the order and direction it is written. That is what lets the worksheets show a start dot, stroke numbers and direction arrows on the model letters, and draw evenly spaced dotted letters for tracing. The print style is upright ball-and-stick manuscript, the style most US preschools and kindergartens teach first; the cursive pages use a traditional American cursive with joining strokes.
